What does P0336 mean?
The DTC P0336 (Crankshaft Position Sensor Range/Performance) is a fault code stored by the ECU when it detects a CKP range condition in the timing subsystem. It is commonly seen on European and Asian vehicles using Bosch, Continental, Siemens or Denso ECUs.
Common causes of P0336
- Magnetized debris on sensor
- Damaged reluctor wheel
- Loose flexplate/flywheel
- Stretched chain affecting timing
