System: AdBlue/SCR
Severity: medium
What does P229F mean?
The DTC P229F (NOx Sensor Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 Sensor 2)) is a fault code stored by the ECU when it detects a NOx sensor B1S2 condition in the adblue/scr subsystem. It is commonly seen on European and Asian vehicles using Bosch, Continental, Siemens or Denso ECUs.
Common causes of P229F
- Failed downstream NOx sensor
- Sensor contamination
- Wiring fault
How to fix P229F
NOx sensors are expensive (€300-700). Verify wiring before replacing. DaVinci can disable monitoring on tuned diesels (where legal).
