ignition timing pulled back to prevent knock — When knock sensors detect detonation, the ECU pulls back ignition timing (e.g. -2°, -4°, -6°). Visible in datalogs as KR or knock retard. Persistent knock retard means tune is too aggressive or fuel is bad.
