How does Stage 1 actually save fuel?
A factory ECU tune is a compromise. Manufacturers calibrate engines for emissions cycle compliance, durability margins, low-octane fuel tolerance and the lowest common driver. A professional Stage 1 remap from DaVinci Deluxe re-optimizes the calibration for your driving conditions:
- Smoother torque delivery at low RPM — less downshifting, less fuel
- Lambda enrichment removed at part load — the engine runs at stoichiometric AFR more often

Will my warranty be voided?
Stage 1 modifications are reversible. DaVinci stores the original file and you can flash it back at any time, including before a dealer visit.
Will my insurance know?
You should disclose modifications to your insurer. Some accept Stage 1; others don’t. The reversibility of a software tune is generally seen as less impactful than physical modifications.
How is fuel saved if power is also increased?
Power and economy are not opposites. Modern turbo engines have huge efficiency reserves — a better calibration extracts both. The fuel savings come at part-load (commuting), the power gains come at full throttle.
