What does P0500 mean?
The DTC P0500 (Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction) is a fault code stored by the ECU when it detects a speed sensor condition in the drivetrain subsystem. It is commonly seen on European and Asian vehicles using Bosch, Continental, Siemens or Denso ECUs.
