P0302
Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
System: Ignition
Severity: medium
What does P0302 mean?
The DTC P0302 (Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected) is a fault code stored by the ECU when it detects a misfire cyl 2 condition in the ignition subsystem. It is commonly seen on European and Asian vehicles using Bosch, Continental, Siemens or Denso ECUs.
Common causes of P0302
- Bad spark plug/coil on cyl 2
- Clogged injector
- Low compression
- Vacuum leak on runner 2
How to fix P0302
Swap coil/plug to another cylinder — if misfire follows, that part is bad. Compression test if no change.
