P0299
Turbocharger / Supercharger Underboost
What does P0299 mean?
The DTC P0299 (Turbocharger / Supercharger Underboost) is a fault code stored by the ECU when it detects a turbo underboost condition in the air/fuel subsystem. It is commonly seen on European and Asian vehicles using Bosch, Continental, Siemens or Denso ECUs.
Common causes of P0299
- Boost leak (intercooler pipe, hose)
- Failing turbo wastegate actuator
- VNT vanes stuck (carbon buildup)
- Faulty MAP/boost pressure sensor
- Cracked exhaust manifold pre-turbo
How to fix P0299
Inspect all boost pipes for splits, test wastegate actuator, clean VNT mechanism, verify MAP sensor against scope reading. After mechanical fix, DaVinci can recalibrate boost target maps to match the corrected hardware.
